The Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort nestled in the South Ari Atoll invites guests on an eco-journey this festive season, bringing the resort’s robust sustainability and community outreach programme to the forefront of its holiday celebrations. On 26th December, the resort will present its very first Maldivian Artisanal, hosting local artists and designers who share the resort’s commitment to support the local culture. Participating brands will include MAJOIE Maldives – a first in natural and sustainable luxury skincare, offering products handmade by Maldivian women, to empower and support them within their local communities. The market will also welcome Island Bazaar, a lifestyle brand offering homeware, apparel and jewellery – including ocean-friendly metal straws, and the creations of Maldivian artist Eagan Badeeu. Conrad Maldives’ green festivities will also include a Christmas tree competition between the resort’s working departments to create a sustainable Christmas tree, using recycled materials. Guests will be able to vote for their favourite, based on sustainability and creativity. The resort is taking a step further with its commitment to sustainability, and has pledged to eliminate the use of plastic on property by January 2020.
