Clementi Secondary School (金文泰中學)
Clementi Secondary School, formerly known as the Government Chinese Secondary School, was founded on March 1, 1926. Our school was founded with three purposes:

(1) Pay attention to Chinese cultural education and take into account the learning of practical English to cultivate good young people and contribute to society;

(2) Cultivate excellent Chinese teachers and improve the teaching staff of Chinese schools;

(3) Educate students so that they can enter university and specialize in Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, etc.

When the school was founded, the position of principal was concurrently held by Mr. Li Jingkang, the Chinese Visual Science Officer. In the winter of 1941, the Pacific War broke out and the school was forced to close. Four years later, Hong Kong regained its sovereignty and our school resumed classes. The following year, it was renamed as Government Chinese Senior High School.

In 1951, the school was renamed Clementi Secondary School. On the one hand, it commemorated Sir Clementi who served as the Governor of Hong Kong from 1925 to 1930. On the other hand, because Sir Clementi had profound attainments in Chinese, he was It is also committed to promoting higher Chinese education.

In September 1961, the school building at No. 30 Fortress Hill Road, North Point, was completed. It was officially launched on September 25th and continues to this day. In 2003, the school improvement project was completed, the new wing of the school building was built, and the teaching environment became more ideal.

In 1999, our school was nominated by the Alumni Association to participate in the "Outstanding School Award Scheme" organized by the Quality Education Fund. As a result, our school was awarded the Merit Award in the "School Spirit and Nurture" category. The award ceremony was held in 20 Held in July 2001. In 2002, our school was invited by the Quality Education Fund and the Education Department to participate in the "School Professional Development Collaboration Scheme" to promote our school's successful school-running experience to the school community. In 2005, our school accepted the external evaluation conducted by the Education and Manpower Bureau and received eight excellent and six excellent results.

Our school is the oldest government Chinese secondary school in Hong Kong. In addition to insisting on mother-tongue teaching, it also attaches great importance to the cultivation of biliteracy and trilingualism. Moral education and extracurricular activities receive the same attention. Therefore, our school has a simple school spirit and students respect their teachers. .
