Norwegian International School (Primary)
The school – originally known as The Norwegian School in Hong Kong – was established by the Norwegian Lutheran Mission and the Norwegian Mission Society as a non-profit school to provide education for the children of Norwegian missionaries. In its early years, Norwegian was the language of instruction, with English lessons conducted by subject teachers. NIS is a school that puts great importance in its community and the relationships between family, students, and teachers. With our small class sizes, each member of the school body is an integral part in helping our students grow in character, compassion, courage and competence. By building their knowledge, skills and character, and helping them to become internationally minded, our students develop Christ-like values to become a people serving God and serving others. In our beautiful, green campus environment, students love playing together and interacting with the natural surroundings. These great spaces also integral to students’ learning, providing a place where they can be their curious selves and learn about God’s creation hands-on. We have the space for the wildest of art and the biggest of projects. It brings us great joy seeing students and parents enjoying a soccer game together after school, or parents chatting as their children creatively explore our play equipment. Whether you are looking for a new school or just visiting, we hope that you find what you are looking for on our website. Please drop by; you are welcome with open arms and smiling faces.
